Front End Driver
About The Position
Front-End Drivers operate front-end trucks that provide services to a variety of multi-family residential and commercial routes removing and transporting waste or recyclables in fulfillment of customer contracts. This position will service multiple customers per day according to assigned routes. The waste will then need to be transferred to the appropriate station, landfill or drop-off location. Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial truck driving experience OR a valid CDL school certificate.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs repetitively, and maneuver equipment in tight spaces.
- Ability to pass safety background criteria, drug screening, and demonstrate safe truck operation.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial frontload trucks along assigned local routes to collect solid waste and recyclables from commercial and multi-family residential customers.
- Safely transfer collected waste to designated transfer stations, landfills, or drop-off locations.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting vehicle conditions as required by company and DOT standards.
- Open container enclosures or gates, maneuvering 3–4 yard cans on castors into position for dumping as needed.
- Interact courteously with customers and the public along your route, serving as a trusted face of GFL.
- Clean loose trash off the truck and surrounding area to maintain clean, safe customer sites.
- Follow all safe operating practices, DOT regulations, and company safety rules.
