About The Position

We Know Training (WKT) is seeking a Contract Front-End Developer for a three-month term to join their Marketing team in Edmonton. The role involves maintaining and improving marketing websites for ReadyEngine platform products, updating RapidLMS storefronts using its CMS, and contributing to other front-end tasks. The marketing sites are built with Next.js and managed in Git. The company is also integrating Sanity's headless CMS, offering an opportunity to influence its rollout. This position is ideal for individuals early in their careers or students seeking hands-on experience with production websites, working closely with an in-house designer/developer and modern front-end technologies. The role is open to Edmonton-based candidates, with a preference for in-office work, though a remote arrangement with occasional office meetings is possible.

Requirements

  • Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
  • Working experience building UI with React (including hooks)
  • Experience with Next.js, or another modern framework such as Vue or Angular
  • A good grasp of responsive design and cross-browser behavior
  • Experience with TypeScript, or strong JavaScript and a willingness to work in a typed codebase
  • Comfort working in Git with a pull-request workflow on GitHub
  • An eye for design and the ability to make reasonable layout and UI decisions independently
  • Strong communication skills and a habit of asking good questions early
  • Must be based in Edmonton and able to work in the office or attend occasional in-office meetings
  • As this is a contract position, you are expected to provide your own hardware and development setup
  • A genuine eagerness to learn and grow

Nice To Haves

  • Some Next.js experience is ideal
  • Post-secondary education (completed or in progress) in computer science, web development, or a related field is an asset
  • Experience with Tailwind CSS is an asset
  • Experience with marketing and analytics tracking (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel / Conversions API) is a strong asset
  • Experience with Sanity, or another headless or traditional CMS such as WordPress, is an asset
  • Familiarity with MDX, Cloudinary, SEO fundamentals (metadata, sitemaps, JSON-LD), or Docker / AWS deployment is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain marketing pages and reusable components in React and TypeScript
  • Update RapidLMS storefronts using RapidLMS’s proprietary CMS
  • Make content and copy updates across sites, including MDX-based blog and FAQ content
  • Implement responsive, on-brand layouts and maintain design consistency
  • Help move in-flight project work forward, including planned product relaunches
  • Maintain and improve site performance (Core Web Vitals), accessibility, and SEO fundamentals
  • Keep dependencies current and resolve build or rendering issues
  • Work in Git: branch, commit, open pull requests, and ship through the existing deployment pipeline
  • Take personal ownership of work and deliver it with care and attention to detail
