About The Position

Rural King is seeking a Front End Department Lead to oversee front-end operations, support cashiers, and provide an efficient, positive customer experience. This role involves leading and training front-end associates, managing various customer transactions, overseeing cash handling procedures, and maintaining the appearance and supplies of customer-facing areas. The position also includes responsibilities for BOPIS (Buy Online, Pick Up In Store) fulfillment and general store and team support, emphasizing Rural King's core values.

Requirements

3+ years of retail cashier, front-end, or supervisory experience preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
Strong cash-handling, math, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify errors and maintain accurate records.
Ability to use POS systems, Microsoft Office, and other retail technology.
Ability to work a 40-hour week with varied days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift, push, and/or pull 30 pounds repetitively and 31–50 pounds intermittently.
Ability to navigate all areas of the store.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and associates.
Close vision required for computer-related activities.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, and support front-end associates in daily operations.
Oversee cashier and customer service desk transactions, including returns, exchanges, layaways, price disputes, and tax-exempt purchases.
Manage cash handling, bank deposits, safe audits, layaway audits, and cash shortage research.
Support registers as needed and educate associates on company programs, including loyalty, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan.
Maintain front-end displays, supplies, popcorn, coffee stations, and other customer-facing areas.
Follow loss-prevention procedures, including EAS deactivation and shrink awareness.
Oversee BOPIS fulfillment, customer pickups, and weekly audits, including orders beyond the 14-day pickup window.
Assist customers with load outs, product questions, phone calls, and other front-end needs.
Coordinate with other departments to resolve customer needs and maintain efficient operations.
Communicate policies and expectations clearly and participate in cross-training and required training.
Support other store operations and perform duties as assigned.
