Adams Front End Cashier/ Self-Checkout - Portland
About The Position
As a Cashier you will be responsible for handling customer transactions, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service. You will assist customers with locating products, answering inquiries, and providing information about promotions or discounts. You will accurately and efficiently process customer purchases with cash, credit/debit cards or other payment methods, ensuring correct change is provided for cash transactions. You will count and reconcile your cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift. Staying informed about products, prices and promotions is key to effectively assisting customers and promoting sales. You will also promote store loyalty programs, discounts and/or special promotions to encourage customer participation. Efficiently bagging and packaging customer purchases, ensuring items are handled with care, and offering assistance to customers with carrying their bags or locating carts are also part of the role. Resolving customer concerns or issues related to the transaction with a positive and helpful attitude, adhering to security measures such as checking identification for age-restricted purchases and monitoring for fraudulent activity, and adhering to all company safety standards are crucial. Other duties may be assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Ability to work in varying temperature-controlled environments.
- Must have open availability to work weekdays weekends and holidays
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
- Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
- Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
- Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
