About The Position

This Front Desk On Call position is responsible for answering and transferring all incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner, giving information, direction and other appropriate assistance to residents, staff, guests and vendors. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting Community property. The position is also responsible for verifying the scheduled presence of all employees and third-party contractors on the grounds. As a Driver, the individual is responsible for the timely and safe transporting of residents to various individual and group activities/functions and medical appointments. The role involves working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions from the Director of Plant Operations, and assisting in the day-to-day operation of the Concierge department to ensure the safety of the Community, its residents, staff and visitors. The position is on-call, as needed, for all shifts: 8am-4pm, 4pm-midnight, or midnight-8am. The role requires opening and closing the front desk, properly securing all files, keys, and equipment. It also involves picking up and delivering residents to scheduled activities and appointments where transportation is needed, communicating messages promptly and clearly, accepting and recording payments, reservations, appointments, and cancellations, and confirming scheduled transportation and event registration with residents. The Front Desk/Security/Driver also receives all persons entering the Community in a courteous manner, informs, guides, directs, or otherwise assists residents, visitors, staff, or vendors tactfully and congenially to present the best possible image of the Community. Attending in-service training and education sessions, as assigned, and performing specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by a supervisor are also part of the role. During emergencies or natural disasters, the employee may be required to report for duty as assigned by the Director of Plant Operations for the duration of the disaster.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Valid Michigan Driver License.
  • Ability to obtain a CPR/AED certification.
  • High proficiency using various computer applications.
  • Resume or previous employment, certifications, skills, or experience that would help to be successful in this position.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • CDL preferred but not necessary.

  • Confirm scheduled transportation and event registration with residents.
  • Receive all persons who enter the Community in a courteous manner.
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions.
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Report for duty during emergencies or natural disasters as assigned.
