About The Position

The Front Desk Representative will be responsible for managing patient appointments, handling telephone calls, preparing patient charts, and ensuring efficient patient registration and check-in processes. This role also involves collecting payments, managing medical records requests, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the workstations and waiting area. The representative will also assist with insurance verification and pre-certifications, and perform other duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager. Flexibility to work at other locations and willingness to cross-train are also required.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • Telephone and computer experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling patient appointments and answering telephone calls.
  • Chart preparation.
  • Appointment reminder calls.
  • Insurance verification as needed.
  • Patient Check in and registration.
  • Collecting co-pays and other balances.
  • Tracking of no-show appointments.
  • Documents and distributes messages as needed.
  • Assists in distribution of faxes and scans throughout the day.
  • Scans reports/paperwork as needed into the EMR.
  • Maintains order/cleanliness of assigned workstations.
  • Assists billing in eligibility verification and pre-certs for procedures.
  • Complete medical records request as assigned.
  • Opening/closing of clinic suite.
  • Keep waiting area clean and neat.
  • Prepare upcoming days schedules; confirm patients balances, collect if needed.
  • Assist in medical records request as needed from the billing department.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Front Office Manager.
  • Ability to work at other locations when needed.
  • Must be open to cross training and learning other areas as needed.
