About The Position
Can you run a front desk when everything is happening at once? Most people think a front desk job is easy — until the phones are ringing, dogs are arriving all at once, clients have questions, and everything needs to be handled quickly and correctly. At The Wags Club , our front desk is the control center of a fast-moving, high-energy dog daycare and boarding facility serving Santa Monica and West L.A. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just keep up — they stay organized, take control, and keep things running smoothly even during the busiest rushes. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in being reliable, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
Requirements
- Prior front desk or customer service experience
- Strong attention to detail — mistakes here affect real dogs
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy rush periods
- Calm, professional demeanor under pressure
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Comfortable around dogs of all breeds, sizes, and energy levels
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and check dogs in/out quickly and accurately
- Manage high-volume phone calls and client questions
- Process payments and maintain an accurate cash drawer
- Clearly explain daycare, boarding, and grooming services
- Communicate critical details to staff (feeding, meds, notes)
- Keep the front desk clean, organized, and running efficiently
- Assist with photo uploads and light social media updates
