About The Position

The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in supporting the night audit team and ensuring smooth and efficient front desk operations during late-night and early morning shifts. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in front desk operations, customer service, or night audit roles preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and hotel front office procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Comfortable working overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and twist in the work area.
  • Must be able to maneuver around property.
  • Must be able to sit, walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and copier.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment.

  • associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nightly financial reconciliations and audits of hotel transactions.
  • Process guest folios, ensuring accuracy of all charges, payments, and account balances.
  • Verify and balance daily cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
  • Prepare daily revenue reports and financial summaries for management.
  • Handle guest check-ins, check-outs, and room assignments during overnight hours.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Manage incoming phone calls and facilitate clear guest communication.
  • Monitor and maintain security of the front desk and lobby areas.
  • Post room charges and accurately process guest billing.
  • Update and maintain the guest reservation system as needed.
  • Assist in operating night audit software and hotel management systems (e.g., OnQ, Agilysys).
  • Respond promptly to guest emergencies, requests, and unusual situations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk environment.
  • Begin AM Checklist tasks prior to the arrival of the morning shift.
  • Print required reports to complete the daily flash using Agilysys and OnQ systems.
  • Performs other duties as required.
