About The Position

The Front Desk Monitor, located at 543 North Pearl monitors the front desk of Michael’s House, a 20-unit, fully furnished, supportive housing facility that provides a safe and stable environment for families and individuals who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. The individual in this role will help to foster a supportive, caring and family atmosphere for the residents of Michael’s House, as well as the staff.

Requirements

  • High School diploma / GED Equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is required.
  • Self-motivated and engaged, with a strong attention to detail; Excellent writing aptitude.
  • Capacity and openness to work with populations from culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including but not limited to a broad range of people with various developmental and functional levels.
  • Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, and handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality.
  • Have a professional record of integrity, proven reliability and dependability.
  • Qualities of positivity, flexibility and adaptability to day-to-day changes with agency needs and functioning.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment background check requirements, including CBC fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a human services agency is a plus!
  • Experience with, Google Business Workspace Suite (Gmail, Docs, Meet, Sheets) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with staff, service providers, community resources, and facility residents while ensuring 100% compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Manage daily office operations, including word processing, filing, telephone/desk reception, and accurate record-keeping; proactive supply inventory; ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by identifying, reporting, and resolving facility issues.
  • De-escalate and intervene in crisis situations, utilizing mediation and communication skills to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Other position-related duties as assigned by the Director/Supervisor.
