About The Position

The Front Desk Attendant serves as the primary point of contact, welcoming members while managing check-ins. They are responsible for answering inquiries and performing equipment and new member orientations. They help maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility while ensuring a positive customer experience.

Requirements

  • CPR and AED required
  • HS Diploma required
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork

Nice To Haves

  • BS in Exercise Science or similar preferred

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist members, guests, and prospective members in a professional and courteous manner
  • Answer member questions regarding facility policies, equipment usage, programs, and services
  • Address member concerns and elevate issues to management as appropriate
  • Provide equipment orientations and new member orientations to members
  • Conduct opening and closing procedures for the fitness center
  • Perform daily facility walkthroughs to identify safety hazards, maintenance issues, or housekeeping concerns
  • Ensure fitness equipment, furnishings, and amenities are in proper working order and report deficiencies promptly
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of all fitness center areas, including cardio, strength training, stretching, lockers and common areas
  • Management of equipment and the preventative maintenance program
  • Light cleaning of the fitness center and reracking of weights
  • Assist with the purchase of essential fitness center items such as gym wipes, replacement of small equipment
  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and follow established emergency procedures
  • Ensure emergency equipment, AEDs, first aid kits, and incident documentation materials are available and operational
  • Monitor member activity for unsafe behavior and provide corrective guidance when necessary
  • Maintain accurate attendance, utilization, orientation, and incident reports
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports regarding facility usage, maintenance needs, member feedback, and operational concerns
  • Verify member eligibility and access privileges
  • Enforce facility policies, procedures and code of conduct
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, office supplies, fitness accessories, and member amenities
  • Coordinate service requests with approved maintenance and equipment vendors as directed by PNC
