Responds in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services. Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us. The role also involves greeting and seating guests, ensuring a quality dining experience, maintaining a safe and sanitary working environment, assisting guests with luggage, handling messages, wake-up calls, mail, and faxes, assisting with laundry/dry cleaning needs, knowing of incoming VIPs, and following all applicable Company Standard Operating Procedures. The team member should be an enthusiastic, helpful, and positive member of the team, professional, responsible, and mature in conduct and behavior, understanding, encouraging, and friendly with co-workers, self-motivated, and able to use time wisely. Maintaining open lines of communication with each department, communicating pertinent information, responding positively to new ideas, and openly accepting critical/developmental feedback are also key. The role requires adherence to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company. Safety and Security Skills are important, including properly handling and accounting for keys and being knowledgeable of policies regarding emergency procedures and security concerns. The position also involves aggressively seeking and reacting to opportunities to sell rooms, having complete knowledge of hotel rooms, function space, restaurant, other outlets, and services, regularly re-stocking and selling pantry items, increasing revenues by offering upgraded rooms and promoting hotel amenities and outlets, having a full understanding of franchise honors programs, and ensuring all customers establish credit upon check-in. This includes verifying information on reservations, retrieving proper name and address verification, identifying and recording special billing instructions, completing shift closing accurately, adhering to hotel policies regarding cash banks, staying current with developments in the hotel by reviewing the communication log book, and reporting potential sales contacts to the sales department.
