About The Position

Under the supervision of the Member Services Coordinator, the Front Desk Attendant assists in the general operations of the Student Recreation Center (SRC) front desk. This is a part-time position (20 hours/week) with expected hours during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The pay rate is $16.90 per hour.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing.
  • Must obtain a nationally recognized First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (American Red Cross preferred) – within 30 days of employment.
  • Must complete: Bloodborne Pathogens, Campus Health and Safety Requirements, CSU’S Discrimination Harassment Prevention Program, Data Security and FERPA, Gender Equity and Title IX, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), First Aid/CPR/AED within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone, walk-in inquiries, and emails regarding programs and services offered in the Student Recreation Center, and respond to general inquiries.
  • Process and book all registrations per established procedures (memberships, personal training, programs).
  • Check in/out equipment.
  • Ensure all guests/visitors are checked in and given an ID badge per established procedure.
  • Adhere to all policies in the Front Desk Manual.
  • Assist in the maintenance, update and revision of filing systems, forms and reports used in the operation of the department.
  • Promote a positive image of the SRC and its many programs and services by keeping current on all areas of the recreation department.
  • Responsible for preparing accident, missing item and incident reports as required, and contacting appropriate University personnel in case of emergencies within the necessary time frame.
  • Must maintain strict adherence to the safety procedures and attend all safety meetings as scheduled.
  • Must attend and participate in mandatory training.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments.
  • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
  • Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately.
