About The Position

The Homewood Suites Lexington Fayette Mall is seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals for its Front Desk/Guest Services team. The ideal candidate will possess a bright personality and a strong desire to excel in the hospitality field. This role involves accommodating hotel guests by registering and assigning rooms, issuing keys, managing guest accounts, handling reservations, addressing guest requests and complaints, and processing payments. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and previous front desk experience is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills, positive interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Excel and Word are also important.

Responsibilities

  • Accommodate hotel guests by registering and assigning rooms to guests, issuing room keys or cards, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests' accounts, making and confirming reservations, addressing guest requests and complaints, and presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guests.
  • Check guests into and out of the hotel in an accurate, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Efficiently and accurately handle all payments received at the property (cash, credit card, etc.).
  • Provide guests with appropriate room assignments, room keys, directions to rooms, and general information regarding the hotel, its amenities, and the surrounding area.
  • Assist guests with issues and complaints with empathy and a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Answer incoming calls within 3 rings with the appropriate greeting.
  • Greet guests warmly and perform registration procedures.
  • Post all charges to guest accounts in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Upon checkout, ensure that all charges are accurate and collect payment.
  • Sell and confirm room reservations using selling techniques and strategies.
