About The Position

The Lofton Hotel, a Tapestry Collection property, is seeking a passionate Front Desk Agent to join their premier team in Minneapolis. This role is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating positive first impressions through warm welcomes, efficient check-ins, and seamless departures. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis' vibrant entertainment district, offering an upscale escape with modern luxury and Midwestern charm. It is connected via the Minneapolis Skyway and is close to major attractions like Target Center, Target Field, and U.S. Bank Stadium. The 251-room property is designed to reflect the city's culture and features contemporary accommodations inspired by Minnesota's landscapes. This is an opportunity to play a vital part in redefining hospitality excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior work experience in a guest/customer service position required, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Able to work independently, has good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences from check-in to checkout.
  • Masterfully handle reservations, inquiries, and complaints using hotel systems.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure, resolving guest issues effectively.
  • Build strong guest relationships through personalized service and local knowledge.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, both in-person and on the phone.
  • Accurately manage financial transactions and maintain cash handling responsibilities.
  • Effectively multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to overall hotel operations by performing various administrative duties.
