About The Position

The Front Counter Customer Service Associate is the first point of contact for Maisch Small Engine customers, providing a welcoming, knowledgeable, and efficient experience across in-store, phone, and digital interactions. This role supports equipment sales, parts and service transactions, repair check-in/check-out, and inventory processes while maintaining an organized, well-stocked, and customer-ready showroom. Success in this position requires the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while delivering consistently excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Strong multitasking ability with excellent organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear, friendly, and professional communication skills, both in person and over the phone/digital channels.
  • Basic proficiency with point-of-sale and inventory management software (training provided).
  • Ability to accurately handle cash, credit, and other payment transactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, sales staff, and management.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to remain composed under pressure during high-volume periods.
  • Ability to stand and move around the showroom and counter area for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry parts and small equipment (up to 40 lbs.) as needed.
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, and point-of-sale terminal for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with small engine equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers promptly and professionally, both in the store and through multiple points of contact (phone, email, and other communication channels).
  • Assist customers with the sale of new equipment, including providing product information and guiding purchase decisions.
  • Assist customers with parts and service requests, including identifying needed parts and scheduling service work.
  • Manage repair equipment check-in and check-out, ensuring accurate documentation and clear communication with customers.
  • Take and process customer payments accurately using point-of-sale systems.
  • Check in parts order inventory upon delivery, verifying accuracy against purchase orders.
  • Put away received parts inventory in designated storage locations.
  • Restock showroom displays to ensure products are well-presented and readily available.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe front counter and showroom workspace.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
