About The Position

Ascent Classical Academy of Grand Junction (ACAGJ) is a public charter school serving students in Kindergarten through 9th grade. ACAGJ is hiring Friday Enrichment Tutors for the grammar school Enrichment program for the 2026-27 school year. Enrichment tutors model good character, support students in completing their homework, provide a safe space to play, and encourage healthy friendships. We are seeking candidates with a high standard of excellence, professional demeanor, warm rapport with students, clear communication with parents and other staff members, and a can-do attitude to join our team. The ideal candidate will be organized, diligent, and devoted to helping students grow in wisdom and virtue.

Requirements

• Ability to supervise students during outdoor recess periods for up to 40 minutes outdoors.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and engage with students throughout the work period.

Responsibilities

• Support the Friday Enrichment Program by providing a safe, structured, and positive environment for students.
• Assist students with homework completion, organization, and academic support as needed.
• Supervise student activities, including indoor and outdoor play periods, while maintaining student safety.
• Encourage positive peer relationships and help students practice appropriate social skills.
• Model the school's core virtues, professionalism, and respectful behavior at all times.
• Build positive relationships with students through encouragement, engagement, and appropriate mentorship.
• Follow all school safety procedures, policies, and expectations for student supervision.
• Communicate appropriately and professionally with students, parents, and staff members.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly and clean learning environment.
• Support classroom and enrichment activities as directed by the Aftercare Coordinator.
• Attend required training and meetings as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the school and enrichment program.
