About The Position

Monroe Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as Freshman Football Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the field by teaching football fundamentals, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, promoting academic success, and preparing athletes for advancement within the football program.

Requirements

Previous football coaching experience is highly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of football fundamentals, skill development, game strategy, and athlete development.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to effectively teach and motivate student-athletes while maintaining a positive and structured environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with student-athletes, parents, coaches, staff, and administration.
Must meet all Monroe Public Schools and Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) requirements for coaching eligibility.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and supervise all practices, contests, team meetings, and related activities.
Teach football fundamentals, techniques, conditioning, and game strategies appropriate for the freshman level.
Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility, and respect among student-athletes.
Monitor and support the academic progress and eligibility of team members.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff, and administration regarding program expectations and activities.
Ensure compliance with all District policies, athletic department expectations, and MHSAA regulations.
Assist in the care, inventory, and maintenance of athletic equipment and facilities.
Collaborate with coaching staff to support program continuity and athlete development.
Serve as a positive role model and representative of Monroe Public Schools at all times.
