About The Position

Monroe Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as Freshman Football Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the field by teaching football fundamentals, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, promoting academic success, and preparing athletes for advancement within the football program.

Requirements

  • Previous football coaching experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of football fundamentals, skill development, game strategy, and athlete development.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively teach and motivate student-athletes while maintaining a positive and structured environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with student-athletes, parents, coaches, staff, and administration.
  • Must meet all Monroe Public Schools and Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) requirements for coaching eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise all practices, contests, team meetings, and related activities.
  • Teach football fundamentals, techniques, conditioning, and game strategies appropriate for the freshman level.
  • Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility, and respect among student-athletes.
  • Monitor and support the academic progress and eligibility of team members.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff, and administration regarding program expectations and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all District policies, athletic department expectations, and MHSAA regulations.
  • Assist in the care, inventory, and maintenance of athletic equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to support program continuity and athlete development.
  • Serve as a positive role model and representative of Monroe Public Schools at all times.
