About The Position

Kelloggsville High School is seeking a Freshman Boys Basketball Coach. The coach will be responsible for instructing and leading student athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success. The role requires knowledge of MHSAA rules and standards, and the ability to use motivational techniques and serve as a positive role model. The coach must be able to communicate effectively, develop positive relationships with student athletes, and work well with parents, staff, students, and the public in a diverse community. A commitment to cultural competence and equitable treatment is essential.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of coaching strategies and methods.
  • Ability to instruct and lead student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success.
  • Knowledge of MHSAA rules and standards.
  • Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others.
  • Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District.
  • Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with student athletes.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community.

Nice To Haves

  • Coaching experience preferred.
