Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations (reading a scale).
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral instructions.
  • Must follow instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Attendance is critical; employee must be dependable to report to work on time as scheduled.
  • Ability to observe and follow proper safety procedures.
  • Willingness to report potentially unsafe conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure produce items are packaged according to customer specifications (each/weight) while meeting position and productivity standards.
  • Review assignment sheet and report to the appropriate work station.
  • Apply labels as necessary to individual containers.
  • Fold corrugated boxes.
  • Fill individual containers or boxes with a specific quantity or weight of produce item(s).
  • Weigh individual packages to verify the correct weight/amount of product.
  • Work with tomatoes, specialty peppers, and other items assigned by management.
  • Set packaged items on trays or slide filled containers to coworkers.
  • Place/stack boxes of finished product onto a pallet.
  • Clean work table and surrounding area at the end of the shift, including wiping down the table with a rag and sanitizer and sweeping the floor.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
