Raley's Fresh Merchandising Coordinator - West Sacramento, CA
About The Position
As a Fresh Merchandising Coordinator, you will play a critical role in helping execute merchandising strategies that drive sales, elevate the customer experience, and support category performance across Produce, Floral, Bakery, Deli, Meat, Seafood, and other Fresh departments. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner closely with Category Managers, vendors, advertising, pricing, operations, and store teams to coordinate promotions, manage item activity, support weekly ads, and ensure the right products are available at the right time. This is an exciting opportunity for an internal team member who wants to grow their merchandising career, gain exposure to category management, and contribute directly to the success of our Fresh business. This role is on-site in West Sacramento, and the final candidate must reside in CA.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two or more years of grocery retail experience or equivalent related experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail and follow-through
- Permanent residency in California or Nevada is a condition of employment for this position.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate promotional offers and merchandising activities for Fresh categories
- Partner with Category Managers and vendors to support the planning and execution of promotions
- Review weekly ads, digital offers, coupons, and signage to help ensure details are accurate and customer-ready
- Communicate updates and changes with business partners across the organization
- Help deliver exciting promotions and seasonal programs that enhance the customer experience and drive sales
- Gain hands-on exposure to how merchandising decisions are made and executed from concept to store shelf
- Support new item launches, product transitions, and discontinued item activities
- Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams including Pricing, Supply Chain, TPM, and Schematics
- Help track timelines and communicate updates to key business partners
- Support the successful execution of merchandising plans across our store network
- Learn how products move from supplier discussions to customer shopping carts
- Partner with Merchandising, Pricing, Advertising, Operations, Supply Chain, Store Support, and vendor partners
- Build your business network and gain visibility across the company
- Learn how cross-functional teams work together to drive category performance and customer satisfaction
