About The Position

Goodness Me! is seeking an experienced and customer-focused, full-time Fresh Foods (Meat & Dairy) Department Manager for their Burlington store location. This role involves leading and managing the daily operations of the Fresh Foods Department, with a focus on sales, labor, and waste targets. The department handles prepackaged fresh meats, with no in-house butchery. The company emphasizes a healthy work-life balance, promotes from within, and offers leadership and skills development training.

Requirements

3-5 years of management experience
Experience in maintaining operational excellence in retail stores (payroll, shrink and inventory management, etc.)
A solid understanding of sales forecasts for establishing key targets for the department
A strong work ethic and a ‘can-do’ attitude
Ability to work primarily daytime shifts, with evening/weekend availability

Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily operations of the Fresh Foods Department, focusing on sales, labor, and waste targets.
Interview and onboard new team members.
Monitor and evaluate team members' performance, including executing performance management conversations.
Assist in rolling out new policies and ensuring team member compliance.
Motivate and inspire team members and facilitate personal growth.
Ensure high levels of productivity are maintained.
Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge.
Participate in merchandising and promotional activities.
Assist with inventory management.
Ensure store conditions are consistently upheld to established standards.
