About The Position

WinCo Foods is hosting a Walk-In Hiring Event on Tuesday, May 12th from 9 AM to 12PM and Wednesday, May 13th, from 1 PM to 4 PM at their Moscow, ID location. They are hiring for multiple positions, including Fresh Foods Clerk, Grocery Floor Clerk, Janitorial Clerk, Produce Clerk, Cart Clerk, Bulk Foods Clerk, and Overnight Stocker. The Fresh Foods Clerk role involves assisting customers, preparing and maintaining fresh food production areas, operating equipment, and receiving/stocking inventory.

Requirements

  • Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to communicate (hearing & speech) effectively with customers to receive orders and perform customer relation skills.
  • Ability to conduct visual inspections, read and follow production guides, recipes, and product labels, and log production quantities and temperature readings on proper forms.
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, divide, and multiply) and compute weights and measures.
  • Ability to perform duties with mental alertness involving potential hazards with respect to related procedures, equipment (e.g., knives), and work aids.
  • Ability to complete training course and meet minimum time standards of productivity and accuracy.
  • Ability to wear hair nets, beard nets, gloves, and other personal protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to use cleaning chemicals and handle related food products.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, turn, and reach over the counter and in tight areas frequently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and reach, push, and pull racks.
  • Ability to handle refrigerated goods (-20°F to 28°F).
  • Ability to work around machinery emitting heat (400°F rotisserie and 325°F hot shortening).
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to perform primary duties efficiently and accurately.
  • Food Handlers Certification (Per State Laws).

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers by providing over-the-counter service and customer service throughout the Fresh Foods department.
  • Operate and maintain the fresh food production areas (Deli/Seafood/Pizza).
  • Prepare the areas for sales, fry food, operate the rotisserie oven, and prepare ready-to-bake/baked pizzas.
  • Receive inventory, verify receipt of ordered product, and stock in designated areas.
  • Consistently provide friendly, courteous service to internal and external customers.
  • Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers.
  • Maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service with an emphasis on taking care of the customer.
  • Take orders, answer questions, and perform suggestive selling.
  • Prepare, stock, display, straighten, and rotate product in fresh food areas (Deli/Seafood/Pizza).
  • Prepare production items according to recipes, food safety procedures, and/or specified cooking times.
  • Handle frozen product.
  • Inspect all product for quality and freshness.
  • Prepare cases by putting product in fresh pans, rotating product, putting product back, filling, etc.
  • Place proper signage on all products including pricing, description, code dating, and COOL information on all required products.
  • Clean and maintain department equipment such as fryers, slicers, etc. by breaking down and reassembling equipment, operating dishwashers and hand washing dishes, and cleaning all appropriate parts with sanitizing solution.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary department by washing parts, tables, and wrapping stations; taking trash and paper to the appropriate balers; cleaning floors and coolers; and cleaning and maintaining glass display counters on the inside and out.
  • Follow strict sanitary guidelines and complete associated records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Understand and follow all food safety procedures and requirements.
