About The Position

Raley's is hiring a Fresh Deli Assistant Team Leader to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Fresh Deli department and help lead the team. The role supports food preparation and merchandising, delivers customer service, and helps maintain food safety, sanitation, and product quality. The assistant team leader is expected to demonstrate leadership, drive results, and pay close attention to detail.

The position involves helping the Fresh Deli Department Team Lead with department tasks, interacting with customers, preparing food, sharing food knowledge, and leading, training, coaching, and communicating with team members. It also includes supporting production, merchandising, quality control, sales, labor management, and productivity.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Be friendly and customer-service oriented; interest in food and cooking is a plus.
• Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be self-motivated, with strong attention to detail, quality, and presentation.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Fresh Deli Department Team Lead with department tasks.
• Interact with customers daily.
• Prepare food, including slicing meats, preparing sandwiches, and cooking fresh offerings.
• Share food knowledge with customers and team members.
• Lead, train, coach, and communicate with department team members.
• Support food safety, safety, and sanitation.
• Manage day-to-day production, merchandising, and quality control of department offerings.
• Drive department sales.
• Manage department labor and productivity.
