About The Position

Atlas Immersion Academy is a multilingual early childhood education organization offering French, Spanish, and Chinese immersion programs for children from 3 months through Pre-K across five Portland Metro campuses. Starting August 31, 2026, our Multnomah County campuses will operate as Preschool For All (PFA) facilities — Multnomah County's initiative providing free, high-quality preschool to eligible 3- and 4-year-olds. We are now hiring French-speaking Lead Teachers for our Gabriel Park and Hawthorne campuses to join this exciting launch. As a Lead Teacher, you are the heart of the classroom. You will plan and deliver French immersion-based curriculum aligned with the Atlas framework and Multnomah County PFA standards, support each child's social-emotional development, build strong partnerships with families, and mentor your assistant teacher. Curriculum planning time is built into your weekly schedule. Lead Teachers are held to an elevated standard of professional practice, including ongoing documentation of each child's progress, regular curriculum reflections, family engagement events, and mentorship of classroom staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum Step 7 on the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) is required.
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Associate degree in ECE or related field with 1 year of experience with children ages 2.5–5 in a licensed setting; OR Bachelor's or Master's degree in ECE or related field; or equivalent combination of education and qualifying teaching experience
  • Oregon Food Handler's Card (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Registration in the Central Background Check Registry (employees 18+) (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Adult and Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Prevention is Better than Treatment, Introduction to Child Health and Safety, Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, Foundations for Learning, and Safe Sleep for Oregon's Infants trainings (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Conscious Discipline (within the first 90 days)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in early childhood education in a licensed preschool or childcare setting preferred
