About The Position

The Dock Coordinator's job involves overseeing and managing all activities related to loading and unloading freight, ensuring efficient and safe operations, and coordinating with various teams to facilitate smooth logistics.

Requirements

  • Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of loading and unloading procedures, safety regulations, and inventory management systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills for interacting with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials, and operate dock equipment (e.g., forklifts).
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) at least 2 yrs. or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including protocols, standard operating procedures, customer orders, and pick tickets.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess or have ability to become forklift certified.
  • Driver’s License or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the movement of tools, materials, and freight at the docks.
  • Ensure on-time mobilization of trades for dock activities.
  • Coordinate between tool installation and base build dock usage.
  • Manage and resolve dock and move-in conflicts and issues.
  • Coordinate with Functional Area Teams (FATs), Tool Owners, Suppliers, and trades.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Supervise and direct the loading and unloading of freight.
  • Ensure accurate loading and unloading procedures.
  • Assist with the completion of loading and unloading tasks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of materials.
  • Inspect materials for damage or misrouting.
  • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the dock area.
  • Perform cleaning activities in the work area.
  • Ensure all items are picked up and off the dock prior to the end of the day.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse workers, drivers, and other stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues and conflicts promptly.
  • Take ownership of problems and drive to resolution.
