About The Position

Gordon Food Service is seeking a Freight Hauler to join their warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for removing products from docks and trailers, staging them for receiving and storage, and using a powered industrial vehicle (PIV) to move products. You will also inspect products for damage, ensure they are secured, and scan them properly for inventory. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F) is required.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize and to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Must have good customer service and time management skills.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience preferred, but not required.
  • High School / Equivalent Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Removes products from docks or trailers and stages them for receiving or storage.
  • Uses a powered industrial vehicle (PIV) to move products.
  • Inspects products for damage.
  • Ensures all products are secured on pallets.
  • Ensures proper scanning of each pallet move in the handheld.
  • Transfers product from frozen and dry receiving docks and stages in various warehouse areas.
  • Communicates dock capacity and finished pallet readiness with the person sorting and segregating the load.
  • Communicates with Putaway/Replenishment Operators on aisle capacity balancing.
  • Ensures pallet quality and type are up to standard.
  • Completes housekeeping activities on a daily basis.
  • Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
