About The Position

Det'on Cho Logistics is an industry leader in supply chain management, aviation support, and logistics services. Our multi-faceted business interests are primarily concentrated on the resource sector, with operations in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. We promote a positive and supportive workplace focused on growth, teamwork and the care for our employees and are seeking a full-time Freight Handler for our Det'on Cho Logistics based in Yellowknife, NT.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push and pull for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing to work in an outdoor winter environment
- Applicants should possess the ability to multitask and work in high volume, fast paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous forklift or loader experience is considered an asset.
- Previous warehouse experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Operate warehouse and yard equipment including forklifts and or loaders for the efficient and safe handling of freight.
- Utilize your organizational skills to ensure that all freight is accurately sorted, secured and labeled for safe transport.
- Demonstrate your attention to detail by ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Provide assistance in locating high-priority freight and preparing loads for upcoming flights or trucks.
- Be a safety advocate by actively participating in the Company’s Safety Management System program.
- Demonstrate your knowledge and commitment to safety by understanding and fulfilling your responsibilities regarding safety as an employee.
