About The Position
Gordon Food Service is seeking a 3rd Shift Freight Handler to join their team. This part-time role is crucial for the company's success in delivering seamless order processing and delivery. The freight handler will be responsible for safely removing pallets of product from trailers, breaking down product for correct pallet configuration, separating inbound freight by item code, ensuring damaged product is accounted for, and maintaining the structural integrity of pallets. Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F) is required.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Prior warehouse experience preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Safely remove pallets of product from the trailer.
- Break down product for the correct pallet configuration.
- Separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets.
- Ensure that damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into the warehouse for sale inventory.
- Account for the structural integrity of pallets.
