About The Position

Gordon Food Service is seeking a Part-Time Freight Handler for their 2nd shift at the Springfield, Ohio Distribution Center. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless order processing and delivery to customers. The freight handler will be responsible for safely removing pallets of product from trailers, breaking down product for correct pallet configuration, separating inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, accounting for damaged product, and ensuring the structural integrity of pallets. No prior experience is required as training will be provided.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F).
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Prior warehouse experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely remove pallets of product from the trailer.
• Break down product for the correct pallet configuration.
• Separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets.
• Ensure that damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into the warehouse for sale inventory.
• Account for the structural integrity of pallets.
