About The Position

The Freight Coordinator at THE TAYLOR GROUP INC is responsible for managing and overseeing the logistics and transportation of goods. This role ensures efficient and timely delivery of freight, optimizing routes and coordinating with carriers to meet business objectives and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight coordination, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Proven experience working with freight carriers and managing shipping schedules.
• Experience in handling documentation related to freight, such as bills of lading and customs paperwork.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with vendors, clients, and team members.
• Proficiency in logistics software and tools, such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyze data and generate reports to improve freight operations and cost efficiency.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations.
• Problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues related to freight delays or discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• An associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Communicate with carriers to negotiate rates and manage contracts.
• Track and monitor shipments, resolving any issues or delays promptly.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast shipping needs and plan accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and carrier performance.
• Analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the logistics industry.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints related to freight operations.
