About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Full-Time Freight Associate to join their team. This role is crucial for managing incoming inventory and ensuring efficient distribution of goods. The associate will be responsible for unloading trucks, organizing freight, examining shipments, processing claims, and distributing items to backstock or the warehouse. This position requires the ability to work with various computer systems and operate pallet jacks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess a team-first mentality, and be committed to delivering excellent customer experiences.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree
1-3 months of warehouse or freight receiving experience
Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Responsibilities

Unload and unpack shipping trucks
Organize and prioritize incoming freight to efficiently and accurately receive inventory
Examine shipments, reject damaged items, and record shortages/overages
Develop and execute claims on mis-ships and defective products
Work with specialty shop managers and merchandisers to distribute items to correct backstock or the warehouse
Assist merchandisers by attaching identification and price tags
Operate motorized or non-motorized pallet jack to move shipments between platforms, backstock, or the warehouse
Navigate a personal computer (Google Suite, AS400, etc.) and a phone (inventory, pricing, receiving, etc.)
Work assigned schedule, which is typically Monday through Friday daytime hours, but may include some evening or weekend hours as needed
