About The Position

North 40 Outfitters is hiring a full-time Freight Associate in Ponderay, Idaho. The role is responsible for moving merchandise accurately, promptly, and safely onto the sales floor, and for organizing and managing back-stock. The position requires working scheduled shifts within the store’s business hours, with scheduling flexibility based on business needs. Shifts may include weekends and certain holidays. The Freight Associate works independently and with a team, supports customers with service and product information, and uses equipment such as ladders, rolling staircases, and pallet jacks. Forklift certification is required and must be attainable; applicants must be at least 18 years old to acquire it.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old to acquire forklift certification.
Must be able to become forklift certified.
Ability to work independently or in a group setting.
Ability to take initiative, adapt to change, and learn new things.
Dependability and ability to perform to the expectations of the role.
Good communication skills and ability to engage with people regularly.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain detailed and focused in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with computers and various programs.
Commitment to providing strong customer service and ability to educate and assist customers about products.
Understanding of correct lifting and loading techniques.
Ability to lift and carry 0–25 lbs. continuously, 25–45 lbs. frequently, and 45–65 lbs. occasionally; team lift items over 65 lbs.
Ability to spend 100% of work time on your feet, including using ladders, rolling staircases, and pallet jacks.
Ability to work scheduled shifts between Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–8 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., including weekends and certain holidays, with scheduling flexibility based on business needs.
