About The Position

Assist with hiring, scheduling, and training for Freestyle Groomers. Work with Terrain Park Crew on layout and feature designs. Foster a cooperative team with grooming employees. Operate all Piston Bully snow-cats and all other snow vehicles operated by RLK and Company. This position starts once the snow flies.

Requirements

  • Must be flexible with shifts, hours and scope of work.
  • Must abide by department standards, company rules and policies.
  • Must have experience in freestyle grooming and ski operations.
  • Must have valid drivers' license.
  • Must submit 5 year DMV Driving Record and be approved by Timberline driving standards.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent leadership and motivational skills.
  • Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Must have computer skills including but not limited to Word documents, scheduling and data base programs.
  • Must have excellent mechanical aptitude, basic Snow-cat repair and upkeep.
  • Must be familiar with equipment essential to cat operation as listed in training manual.
  • Must be professional in words and actions.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, days, swing and graveyard.
  • Must be able to ski or snowboard all groomed runs.
  • Must be able to work in snow, icy, uneven and slippery conditions.
  • Must be able to work in extreme conditions such as but not limited to sun, cold, wind, rain.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Must have safety conscious attitude.
  • Must be able to work long hours and maintain high energy level.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in hiring, scheduling, and training for Freestyle Groomers.
  • Manage department hours using Paylocity to reduce overtime.
  • Maintain awareness of upcoming weather conditions and anticipate strategies to maintain quality of grooming product and daily operations of department.
  • Active member of Freestyle Team and contributes in park layout and feature designs.
  • Share, direct and delegate projects with crew members.
  • Interpret daily feedback from Terrain Park Crew and create nightly work plan.
  • Work with the Freestyle Operations Manager for developing training programs specific to the Freestyle Grooming department.
  • Assist with special events production per request of the Freestyle Operations Manager.
  • Assist Equipment manufacturers with vehicle performance feedback. Gather data and cataloguing of vehicle performance and efficiency programs.
  • Actively lead snow-farming efforts in collaboration with the Freestyle Operations Manager.
  • Operate snow machines according to operating manual and Timberline safety protocols/policies in all conditions within the ski area.
  • Fleet Management in collaboration with vehicle maintenance and Freestyle Operations Manager.
  • Foster a cooperative working environment with all grooming employees.
  • Oversee completion of daily logs, check lists, fueling and additional paperwork as required.
  • Attend all Manager/Supervisor training scheduled by HR.
  • Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
  • Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
  • Present a professional, quality image at all times.
  • Exercising sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming.
