About The Position

Prometric is seeking Freelance Item Development Professionals to create assessment content for a beginner-level, non-technical Artificial Intelligence (AI) course. This end-of-course assessment aims to provide a practical understanding of AI for a non-technical audience, with successful candidates earning a micro-credential. The role involves reviewing course materials, identifying learning outcomes, and developing high-quality assessment items that accurately measure learner knowledge and skills. Success in this role depends on the ability to analyze educational content, apply assessment principles, and write clear, valid, and reliable items, rather than on advanced AI expertise. Item Development Professionals will work on a piece-rate basis for content review and item development, and an hourly rate for additional tasks.

Requirements

Exceptional English writing and editing skills and ability to apply feedback
Ability to author, review, and edit AI assessment content
Experience analyzing course materials and aligning assessments to learning objectives
Item writing experience is required
Working from a secure and private work location

Advanced knowledge of AI is not required

Responsibilities

Completing AI course material prior to commencing work
Completing item writing training packages prior to commencing work
Authoring test items for AI assessments
Reviewing and editing items according to guidelines and feedback
Reviewing forms and participating in Standard Setting activities
Attending and actively participating in online training sessions and item review workshops
Following test specifications and item writing best practices
Adhering to test security protocol and safeguarding confidentiality
Meeting content deadlines and managing assignment workload
Communicating effectively with the Assessment Development team
Working from a secure and private work location
