About The Position

Sweet Fish Media is seeking a Freelance Designer to build visual brands that drive business results for B2B companies. This role focuses on brand identity, audience psychology, and content packaging, requiring a designer who can create visual identities and thumbnail systems that capture attention in crowded feeds. The position is ideal for someone who understands that each podcast is a unique brand and each thumbnail is a conversion opportunity. This is a high-growth freelance role for a designer looking to enhance their branding and performance-driven design skills while collaborating with producers, strategists, and creative teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in brand design, visual identity, or content design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing range across multiple brands and industries.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience designing YouTube thumbnails or performance-driven content packaging.
  • Strong understanding of typography, composition, contrast, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience using AI tools like Midjourney or Stable Diffusion as part of the creative workflow.
  • Ability to clearly explain and defend design decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve the visual identity of multiple B2B shows, ensuring strong brand positioning, scalable design systems, and high-performing episode packaging.
  • Build full brand identity systems for new podcast launches, including logo, typography, color systems, cover art, and visual direction.
  • Refresh existing podcast brands to improve relevance, positioning, and consistency.
  • Design YouTube thumbnails that are performance-minded, CTR-aware, and built within scalable systems.
  • Create moodboards and visual exploration decks for new show concepts and brand pitches.
  • Partner with producers and strategists to align visual direction with show positioning and audience goals.
  • Build repeatable visual systems that scale across dozens of episodes without losing brand consistency.
  • Utilize AI-assisted design workflows (Midjourney, Photoshop, etc.) to enhance speed, ideation, and production quality.
