About The Position

The Senior Fraud Strategy Analyst will lead efforts in identifying, investigating, and mitigating fraudulent activity. Responsible for monitoring high risk transactions, analyzing complex fraud patterns, and developing strategies to minimize financial losses. Work closely with cross-functional teams including Risk, Compliance, and Product Teams to ensure effective fraud prevention and detection systems are in place.

Requirements

  • High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent
  • Minimum experience required: 5+ Years
  • Understanding of common fraud types (e.g., phishing, account takeover, social engineering, etc.).
  • General knowledge of banking systems (e.g., DNA, Nautilus, Compass, FCRM, Enterprise Payment Platform, and Salesforce).
  • In-depth knowledge of debit card fraud patterns, detection techniques, and risk management practices.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of card network rules and chargeback processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including Regulation CC, Regulation E, and UCC articles.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze debit card transaction data to identify potential fraud activity.
  • Lead investigations into suspected fraud activity and resolve issues with minimal customer impact.
  • Use advanced analytical tools, machine learning, and fraud detection systems to detect anomalies and trends.
  • Respond to fraud-related inquiries via phone or email, providing accurate information and taking appropriate action to resolve issues and mitigate risk.
  • Handle inquiries or complaints from customers, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, or business partners.
  • Review customer accounts for risk indicators and recommend closure when necessary to protect the bank and its clients.
  • Lead Enterprise Fraud Management’s card model Performance Reviews.
  • Update new documentation as needed.
  • Lead any new card technology implementation or significant model updates for Model Risk Governance.
  • Partner with internal departments to promote fraud awareness and support training initiatives including new Fraud Strategy Analysts.
  • Collaborate with external financial institutions to identify and communicate instances of fraud, supporting proactive risk mitigation and timely resolution.
  • Recommend improvements to existing processes, systems, and controls to enhance fraud detection and customer experience.
  • Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Stay current on fraud trends, tools, and regulatory requirements.
