Why This Role Matters: The Fraud Operations Center of Excellence (FOCE) and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) partner together to support the Fraud Risk management program at Group 1001. The FOCE focus is on the detection and prevention of fraud across the enterprise, and the SIU is tasked with the investigation and reporting of suspicious activity as well as the identification of potential control gaps and procedural improvements. These two groups work closely together and with stakeholders in key business units to protect our customers and companies from insurance fraud. How You'll Contribute: This intern will have a hands-on experience working with the FOCE and SIU to detect, prevent and investigate insurance fraud through the activities below: Monitor calls in Pindrop for potential fraud Help review alerts the FOCE receives in the Counter Fraud Rules Engine Learn the investigation process, and work to support the SIU in the investigation of suspicious activity Contribute to the anti-fraud training program during the time as an intern Learn about the annual Fraud Risk Assessment process and contribute as needed Work with members of the FOCE on business process analysis reviews What We’re Looking For: Undergraduate students completing their sophomore or junior year preferred pursuing Criminal Justice, Forensic Accounting, Risk or other similar majors. Availability to work full-time hours over the term of the internship period. Desire to learn about fraud risk management as a possible career. Strong research and writing skills with a desire to determine the root cause and document all information. Detail oriented with strong focus on quality of deliverables. Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems. Ability to own the assigned task, prioritize and meet deadlines. Strong written and communication skills-able to clearly articulate complex information to others. Requirements
