About The Position

Sunbit is seeking a Fraud Operations Manager to lead day-to-day fraud operations and drive continuous improvement across fraud prevention, detection, and investigation processes. This role blends people leadership, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making to reduce fraud losses while maintaining a seamless customer experience.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in fraud operations, risk operations, or financial crimes within fintech, payments, lending, or financial services
  • 2+ years of people management experience leading fraud or risk teams
  • Experience in installment lending, BNPL, or credit underwriting environments
  • Hands-on experience partnering with Fraud Data Science or Analytics teams
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations related to fraud and consumer protection
  • Strong understanding of fraud typologies (application fraud, identity theft, synthetic identity, account takeover, merchant fraud, chargebacks)
  • Experience working with fraud tools, case management systems, and decision engines
  • Data-driven mindset with experience interpreting dashboards, reports, and trends (SQL or BI tools a plus)
  • Proven ability to improve processes, scale operations, and implement automation
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Fraud Analysts responsible for transaction monitoring, application review, chargeback management, and investigations
  • Own daily fraud operations workflows, SLAs, and escalation processes
  • Monitor fraud trends, KPIs, and loss metrics; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Partner with Fraud Data Analytics to optimize rules, models, and alerting strategies
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering on fraud tooling, automation, and system enhancements
  • Ensure consistent application of fraud policies and procedures across all channels
  • Drive operational efficiency while balancing fraud risk, approval rates, and customer experience
  • Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and compliance requirements related to fraud controls
  • Create and maintain documentation, playbooks, and training materials
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex fraud cases and emerging fraud patterns
