Responsible for investigating potential external fraud incidents related to the bank and the banks customers. Collects and retains documentation related to investigations, documents investigation results and may file reports in accordance with bank regulations and compliance requirements. Assists in the recovery of funds as necessary and provides guidance to business units related to fraud incidents. Job may be approximately 50% administrative and 50% investigation dependent on business need. Administrative duties include assigning fraud incident referrals (FIRs), processing losses & financial transactions, processing mail, general ledger reconciliation, group email monitoring and responses, and other duties as assigned. Partners with branch managers, associates and various business lines of the bank to prevent and reduce fraud losses. Conducts investigations to identify fraud transactions, identity theft, and elder abuse. Writes investigative reports based on investigation analysis and findings. Analyzes customer accounts during investigations for fraud. Interacts with all levels of law enforcement and government agencies, provides loss documentation and digital evidence as requested. Files reports for cases meeting criteria established by FinCEN. Administrative Duties: Processing financial transactions (losses and checks), assigning fraud incident referrals. Recommends changes in policies and procedures according to loss trends detected throughout the bank. Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training. Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
