About The Position

PopUp Bagels is a rapidly growing bagel company that is expanding nationally and seeking a Franchise Performance Manager to help launch new shops in various markets. This role is not a desk job and requires significant travel (75-90%) to support franchisees. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing shop openings from planning through grand opening, training teams on PopUp's standards and recipes, conducting operational reviews, and solving on-the-ground issues. The role also involves collaborating with internal departments to ensure franchisees have the necessary support. Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years in franchise operations, restaurant, retail, or hospitality management.
  • Experience opening stores and training teams from scratch.
  • Sufficient business experience to discuss P&L with owners and hands-on experience to work on the front lines.
  • Ability to build trust with a diverse range of individuals, from founders to frontline staff.
  • Skill in managing multiple openings and priorities simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and a preference for self-direction over relying on established playbooks.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and field reporting tools.
  • Frequent air and car travel required.
  • Ability to spend long days on your feet during visits and openings.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

  • Multi-unit or franchisee support experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Launch new shops, managing the process from pre-opening planning through grand opening day, including training new teams.
  • Train and coach franchisees and their crews on standards, recipes, and guest experience through in-person visits, webinars, and one-on-ones.
  • Conduct operational reviews covering food safety, brand standards, and guest experience, and develop plans with owners to improve their business numbers.
  • Handle various operational issues such as delivery problems, new menu item rollouts, and guest escalations.
  • Advise on P&L and local marketing strategies, and assist with physical tasks like unloading boxes.
  • Liaise with Marketing, Training, Supply Chain, and Operations departments to ensure franchisees receive necessary support.
