About The Position

TruckAline is a Minnesota-based, family-owned business with a brand new facility in Columbus, MN, seeking Diesel and Frame Technicians. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals with mechanical aptitude and a strong work ethic. Our services include frame work & repair, brakes, tie rods, leaf springs, bushings, ball joints, u joints, and trailer alignments. We also boast one of the largest truck parts inventories in the Twin Cities area.

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude (prior experience as a technician is a plus, but we will train!)
Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently

Honesty and respect

Nice To Haves

Experience as a truck mechanic preferred
Welding experience a plus for trailer technicians

Responsibilities

Performs routine servicing and repairing of diesel trucks or trailers.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear.
Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
Perform repair and customization work as assigned including routine maintenance, brake replacement/repair, suspension repair, electrical and pneumatic and hydraulic component troubleshooting and repair, trailer body repair including complete trailer rebuild.
Wheel end, frame repair, tag axels, suspension, brake along with general repairs
Provide after-sale services, such as component installation
Inspect the overall condition of Truck and Trailer to ensure that they meet U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements.
Compile inspection reports detailing their findings
Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
