About The Position

TruckAline is a Minnesota-based, family-owned business with a brand new facility in Columbus, MN, seeking Diesel and Frame Technicians. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals with mechanical aptitude and a strong work ethic. We specialize in full-service truck alignments and suspensions, including brakes and springs, and handle D.O.T. inspections. Our services include frame work & repair, brakes, tie rods, leaf springs, bushings, ball joints, u joints, and trailer alignments. Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude (prior experience as a technician is a plus, but we will train!)
  • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a truck mechanic preferred
  • Welding experience a plus for trailer technicians

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine servicing and repairing of diesel trucks or trailers.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear.
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Perform repair and customization work as assigned including routine maintenance, brake replacement/repair, suspension repair, electrical and pneumatic and hydraulic component troubleshooting and repair, trailer body repair including complete trailer rebuild.
  • Wheel end, frame repair, tag axels, suspension, brake along with general repairs
  • Provide after-sale services, such as component installation
  • Inspect the overall condition of Truck and Trailer to ensure that they meet U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements.
  • Compile inspection reports detailing their findings
  • Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
