About The Position

The Frame Builder is responsible for assembling furniture frames according to specifications, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. This role involves working with various tools and materials to construct frames, inspecting for defects, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The position also requires participation in process improvements, adherence to company policies, and support for environmental and quality management systems. Availability for mandatory overtime is also a requirement.

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend most of the day with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Mostly required to lift frame parts but could occasionally have to lift entire completed frame weighing approximately 40 lbs or more with team assist.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble furniture frames per Shop Order Release (SOR) and/or Operational Method Sheet (OMS), drawings or schedules using appropriate gauges, screws, glues, compressed air staple gun, and other frame materials to join together wood parts pre-cut by routers.
  • Inspect for obvious damage, color consistency and alignment or any other material specifications and inspect parts for compliance to any other quality or workmanship standards.
  • Keep workspace and equipment clean and well organized.
  • Perform required preventive maintenance as required on any equipment being used.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Identify nonconformities, follow nonconforming product procedures and be aware of disposition authority.
  • Identify, support, and execute process improvements.
  • Support the Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies of Kimball International.
  • Follow and support the Quality system.
  • Performs job rotation as directed.
  • Support our Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Perform other duties as requested.
