Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), OR work experience which demonstrates performance competency
  • Experience assembling wood products or components in a manufacturing or construction environment preferred.
  • Ability to read tape measures, basic drawings, and work instructions.
  • Competent in basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing production demands and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wood frame components, panels, or structures according to work instructions, blueprints, and production schedules.
  • Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, jigs, and fixtures to fasten lumber and components accurately.
  • Inspect materials and completed assemblies to ensure conformance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain a consistent production pace aligned with customer demand and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Follow standard work methods and OSHA-compliant safe work practices at all times.
  • Perform cross-training in other departments or assembly processes to build additional skill blocks.
  • Safely move, stage, load, and unload lumber, wood components, and finished frames.
  • Ensure accurate material identification, counts, and part tracking throughout production.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas to support efficient workflow and safety.
  • Operate basic woodworking or assembly support machinery (e.g., saws, nail machines, presses) as trained.
  • Monitor equipment for proper operation and report issues to leadership or maintenance.
  • Perform routine adjustments and basic troubleshooting within training scope.
  • Support team members to achieve daily production and quality goals.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business objectives.
