About The Position
EMR is a leading global metal recycling company seeking an experienced Mechanic for its state-of-the-art metal recycling yard in New Orleans, LA. This is a full-time position focused on maintaining heavy equipment such as material handlers, front-end loaders, excavators, conveyor belts, and other machinery essential to operations. The role involves planned and preventative maintenance, including fuel and lubrication, inspection, testing, diagnosing malfunctions, and parts installation. Experience in repairing metal processing equipment and trucks is beneficial, as is a background in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of maintenance experience.
- Flexibility to work on heavy equipment as well as machinery.
- Background in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical areas.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in repair of metal processing equipment.
- Experience in repair of trucks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment through planned and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Perform fuel and lubrication tasks.
- Inspect and test equipment.
