About The Position

The FPI, Level I will perform the necessary operations and control checks that require investment casting to be processed using equipment and fluorescent penetrant materials in order to prepare the parts for inspection personnel. Incumbent must handle hazardous waste in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and company policy. Prepares solutions, cleans parts, applies fluorescent penetrate solution, washes parts, develops them, dries and otherwise processes parts through the FPI line. Complies with standard procedures for checks on equipment and fluids. Degreases parts as required. Meet the specific requirements of the efficiency standard as established by Engineering. Interprets accurately and follows Standard Operating Procedures and Engineering Procedures. Records on a daily basis all work performed and correct distribution of work time identifying same by operational codes. Maintain all required process records. Keeps work area clean, orderly and in safe condition, following all safety rules. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors. Assure product is properly processed to the applicable method sheets. Perform additional duties assigned by Department Supervisor and/or the Level III.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity.
  • Ability to work flexible hours with a history of dependability and strong attendance.
  • Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Pass visual acuity test with corrected or uncorrected vision.
  • Pass color perception test showing capability to distinguish and differentiate between colors used in the process.
  • Willing to devote personal time toward the study of all data required to pass the Level I certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous FPI Level I certification through an organized training course per NAS-410.
