About The Position

The FPA Practice Manager provides operational and administrative support to physicians and practice administrators on policies and procedures, billing-related training, contractual relationships with managed care organizations, capital procurement, and space allocation. The role serves as a liaison with all levels of the Mount Sinai Health System to support the efficient delivery of non-financial services to participating physician practices.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• Five years of medical insurance experience, including medical office administration and benefit verification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, training, and implementation for converting new practices to the billing system; work with senior leadership, the Finance Director, and practice administrators to develop and prepare implementation plans.
• Establish practice-site procedures to support efficient data input and billing.
• Develop and supervise the preparation and implementation of uniform training programs for billing activities and performance measurement.
• Liaise with FPA administrators, physicians, and other relevant parties on third-party reimbursement and proposed modifications to service-delivery arrangements.
• Plan and coordinate capital equipment procurement for practices, ensure necessary support services are provided, and potentially coordinate space allocation.
• Serve as a liaison to all levels of the Medical Center and School, including department heads and chairmen, to ensure non-financial services are provided and outstanding issues are resolved.
• Coordinate planning and implementation of contractual relationships with managed care organizations.
• Review and evaluate manual and computerized practice office support systems, including scheduling, telephone answering, dictation, and medical records.
• Perform other related duties.
