Create lesson plans and teach to the entire class and individually or in small groups, track student progress, and work within district administration policies, guidelines, and standards of learning. This position requires the creation and adherence to a classroom schedule that includes regular classroom instruction, integrated arts classes, library visits, library lessons, computer lab times, counselor lessons, special assemblies, lunch times, and recess. The role involves creating and implementing lesson plans and activities, maintaining accurate student records (attendance, grades, discipline), and developing a classroom disciplinary plan. It also focuses on encouraging the development of social and emotional skills, community building, and behavior management. The teacher will implement special educational plans (504 plans, IEPs, IHP), complete IEPs and evaluations for Special Education teachers, and submit required forms and reports promptly. Regular communication with parents regarding progress and concerns is essential. Participation in building grade level and subject area committees, professional development activities, and IEP/504/student assistance teams is expected. The role includes reporting suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment as per Board policy. Additionally, the teacher will manage and organize classroom supplies, create and display student work, supervise student dismissal, and post daily learning objectives. Attendance at school-sponsored activities like Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, and faculty meetings is required.
