About The Position

Create lesson plans and teach to the entire class and individually or in small groups, track student progress, and work within district administration policies, guidelines, and standards of learning. This position requires the creation and adherence to a classroom schedule that includes regular classroom instruction, integrated arts classes, library visits, library lessons, computer lab times, counselor lessons, special assemblies, lunch times, and recess. The role involves creating and implementing lesson plans and activities, maintaining accurate student records (attendance, grades, discipline), and developing a classroom disciplinary plan. It also focuses on encouraging the development of social and emotional skills, community building, and behavior management. The teacher will implement special educational plans (504 plans, IEPs, IHP), complete IEPs and evaluations for Special Education teachers, and submit required forms and reports promptly. Regular communication with parents regarding progress and concerns is essential. Participation in building grade level and subject area committees, professional development activities, and IEP/504/student assistance teams is expected. The role includes reporting suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment as per Board policy. Additionally, the teacher will manage and organize classroom supplies, create and display student work, supervise student dismissal, and post daily learning objectives. Attendance at school-sponsored activities like Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, and faculty meetings is required. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Proper certificate in related field.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of current educational theory and instructional techniques while presenting subject matter to students.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Strong written and oral communications and relational skills.
  • Social Perceptiveness and being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including computer, printer, calculator, and copier.
  • Ability to identify needs and abilities of individual students and adapt instructional methods accordingly.
  • Ability to interpret educational implications of evaluation results, design interventions, and provide specially designed instruction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, teachers, parents, and the public.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, Board policy, administrative procedures and forms, and governmental regulations and guidance.
  • Ability to complete forms, write reports and engage in written correspondence with parents.
  • Ability to write clear and complete lesson plans.
  • Ability to effectively welcome and embrace differences among employees and students.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Must be able to successfully complete an intense background investigation.

  • Collect, organize, and maintain classroom supplies such as crayons, paper, pencils, cleaning wipes, books, art supplies, and snacks.
  • Create and display student work in the classroom and on public bulletin boards in the hallway.
  • Assist with and supervise dismissal of students daily.
  • Determine and post learning objectives daily for student and supervisor.
  • Attend established traditional school-sponsored activities (e.g., Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, activities, and faculty meetings).
  • Perform related work as required.
