About The Position

Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for a 4th Grade Lead teacher beginning in August, 2026. We are seeking individuals from independent, public, private, or charter schools, with prior experience in and a passion for teaching lower school students.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in and a passion for teaching lower school students
  • A minimum of a college bachelor’s degree is required
  • Proficiency with reading and writing instructional practices that include strategy groups, conferring and book clubs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of student centered, interdisciplinary and differentiated learning
  • Familiarity implementing a variety of assessment practices
  • Experience creating lessons and projects that are inclusive of the diversity and multiculturalism in our community
  • Experience with conceptual mathematics teaching and learning
  • Effective communication skills with students, parents and colleagues
  • Commitment to professional and personal development
