About The Position

Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for a 4th Grade Lead teacher beginning in August, 2026. We are seeking individuals from independent, public, private, or charter schools, with prior experience in and a passion for teaching lower school students.

Requirements

Prior experience in and a passion for teaching lower school students
A minimum of a college bachelor’s degree is required
Proficiency with reading and writing instructional practices that include strategy groups, conferring and book clubs.
Demonstrated understanding of student centered, interdisciplinary and differentiated learning
Familiarity implementing a variety of assessment practices
Experience creating lessons and projects that are inclusive of the diversity and multiculturalism in our community
Experience with conceptual mathematics teaching and learning
Effective communication skills with students, parents and colleagues
Commitment to professional and personal development
