Requirements

High school diploma/GED
Ability to work safely around hot metal, welding, and plasma cutting operations.
Good work ethic, good attendance record and a positive attitude
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety policies and procedures

Responsibilities

Rebuild Pouring Ladles per procedures for next heat
Set the stopper rod in the ladle and checks for fit
Hold the transfer ladle steady with a long rod while the heat is being tapped from the furnace
Collect a sample of metal from the ladle to be analyzed by the lab
Roll the ladle over to pour the molten metal into the AOD vessel
Pour molten metal from ladle to molds
Maintain the condition of the transfer ladle by chipping the solidified slag
Inspect ladle condition prior to and after use
Ensure work area is clean and free of any hazards
Input and maintain process and pouring records
Participate in lean initiatives (6S, Visual Management, Kaizen)
Participate in all Safety, Health and Environmental programs (WHZ, 6S, etc.)
