About The Position
We are seeking a dependable and motivated 4th Shift Foundry Operator (Furnace Helper) to join our team in Mentor, OH. This role is essential to supporting vacuum casting operations and maintaining high production and quality standards in a fast-paced foundry environment. This position provides an opportunity to develop into a Vacuum Casting Technician, with hands-on training in advanced casting processes.
Requirements
- Previous manufacturing or foundry experience preferred
- Experience with industrial equipment or high-temperature processes is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred (experience may substitute)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to meet deadlines and production goals
- Proven reliability with a strong attendance record
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Team-oriented with effective communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability
- Ability to work in a high-activity, high-temperature foundry environment

Responsibilities
- Train to perform the duties of a Vacuum Casting Technician
- Operate vacuum furnaces including equiax, directional solidification (D.S.), and single crystal furnaces
- Accurately record all required process and production information
- Ram crucibles and perform furnace setup and changeovers, including D.S. susceptors, coils, and melt coils
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), engineering procedures, and special lot instructions
- Meet established production efficiency standards
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within the foundry department
- Ensure all documentation is properly completed and maintained
- Develop a thorough understanding of production processes and materials
- Organize work to maintain smooth and efficient operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
